Brief
Mochipet is Taiwanese David Wang, a producer of vastly varied electronic music stylings. Throughout his career as Mochipet, David has dipped his toes into a great many styles including Techno, IDM, Experimental, Noise, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Experimental, Breaks, Glitch, Breakcore, Leftfield, Electro, Tech House, Minimal, and Disco; has released material on various Record Labels (Bpitchcontrol (Berlin), Tigerbeat6 (Oakland), Peace-off (France), SCION, and Creaked (Switzerland)), as well as establish his own (Daly City Records); and has played across several continents, alongside other known artists such as Luke Vibert, Dat Politics, Kid606, Daedelus, Bogdan Raczynski, DJ Plasticman, Otto Von Schirach, Jason Forest, Modeselektor, Doormouse, and Drop the Lime. This is, however, to be considered a very condensed list.

His current procedure, as of months April and May, is what has been titled the Atari Tour, which comprises gigs played in venues and parts of festivals across Europe (click here for flyer of all current dates).
Mr. Wang (Mochipet) will be sharing the stage of the Newcastle date with some local artists and DJ's playing a range of electronic music opening with KyotoSapian presenting melodic trance-styled tunes composed on an original 1989 Nintendo Gameboy followed by Breakbeat Heartbeat utilising a much more electro/breakbeat approach to a retro video game sound. Leading on from there (DJ) Frederico Gonzalez will be providing the 'joy joy' with a fine selection of some his hard gabber vinyls, only to be followed up by local DnB and breakcore producer ChopChop accomodating a seasoned style of broken-beat, adrenaline-provoking madness.
